Toyota Corolla AE86

The Toyota Corolla AE86, produced from 1983 to 1987, harnesses powerful drift capabilities as a direct product of its: rear wheel drive limited slip differential configuration, low vehicle weight (2200 - 2400Ib), 5-speed manual transmission, ventilated disc brakes, MacPherson strut style independent suspension in front and a four-link live axle with coil springs for the rear, stabilizer bars at both ends, and a relatively powerful and easy to tune 4-cylinder engine.

One of the reasons the Toyota AE86 earned its title as drift car because of its impressive ability to compete in a drift race against much more sophisticated drift cars like the Nissan Skyline, the Toyota Supra and others.
Unlike the Toyota Levin featured here, The Toyota Corolla Trueno AE86 is of similar configuration, except that it has pop-up headlights instead, with some other modifications as well. In 1986, slight changes were made which resulted in different tail lights for both Levin and Trueno models, along with the hatchback and coupe styles, respectively. Both cars can do some serious drift regardless.

The GT-S model engine specifications yields a strong 112hp (84kW) at 6600rpm with approximately 100ft·lbf of torque at 4800rpm. Talk about serious drift!
