Air, Spark and Fuel together reacts to burst and generate energy. Its important that air flow is regulated and controlled with precision and the Throttle Body manages it efficiently. The throttle body sits between the air filter and the intake manifold regulating air in response to the accelerator. The throttle plate inside the throttle body is called the butterfly valve that controls the airflow.We can mod the throttle body too to improve performance and this can be done by doing a throttle body enlargement. This is a process in which the diameter of the TB(Throttle Body) is increased by shaving it by 40mm or 50mm based on the type of car. Doing this mod will increase the airflow into the engine and the air mass sensor will detect the extra air intake and communicates with the ECU to inject more fuel hence extra power is generated. Injection of fuel than stock configuration translates to bad fuel efficiency, a sacrifice for that extra torque.
There are bolt on kits for hassle free upgrade and not having to break your head on making a right mod on the stock throttle body. Its best if the car is installed with a Free Flow Exhaust and better to have the engine Ported and Polished as well to squeeze the juice out of a TB enlargement mod.
