Getting a new front windshield on Saturday.

Wiechers Alu front bottom strut brace

Received my Aluminium Wiechers bottom strut brace (front bottom €52).
Easy to mount it yourself, just make sure there is not tension on the front wheels.


My car has 30mm lowering springs, I have about 10cm ground clearance left. Be careful with those in the middle of the road speed bumps.

Folding Remote key

I bought this folding key from Ebay. Ebay search: Folding Remote KEY

You have to transfer your original Peugeot key, transmitter and the button electronics to the new housing.

Remove the screw, and pull the key out of the body.

Open the body. Top left corner (left body) is the transmitter chip. Whitout that in the key body your car won't start. Right side is the body with the print board that holds the battery and the "open" and "lock" buttons.
Take a really small screwdriver to take the print bord out. Now we are going to transfer all the items to the new housing.

Here all the elements you should have. Transmitter chip top left.


The new housing. Be careful when you open the top, there is a spring under the metal key housing.

Put the transmitter chip in the upper left corner, there is a little place which is perfect for it.
Put the metal buttons + white rubber in the housing and put the print board on top.

Now put the metal key housing with the spring back in the correct place, make sure you put some tension on the spring by turning it a clock wise. put the top of the housing back on.

Put the bottom plate back on and secure it with the two screws.

Now we are going to adjust your original key to make it fit into the new housing.
Take a thin screwdriver to remove the pin that secures the generic key.

Here are the generic key and the Peugeot key. You can see that the top is a bit different. Use a metal file to make the Peugeot key as thin and wide as the generic key. BE CAREFUL!!!! do this at your own risk.

The Peugeot key is now as thing and wide as the generic key.

Use a metal saw to make the line where the locking pin secures the key.

Key is ready to be mounted into the new housing. Put the key into the metal housing and put the pin back in.

Final result.

Key folded back in.

Test it first.

Then put the Peugeot sticker on the housing.

Don't forget to bring your spare key in case you screw it up :-)

Customizing your original car key is dangerous, be very careful, do it at your own risk.
A replacement key is expensive.

Some my107 TLC - UPDATE "5 hour Finishing touch"

I received some tips from a forum member how to get a really really nice shine on the car. I visited him yesterday and he showed me a few steps how to clean my car like a pro. Again thanks so much Jan for your help and the warm welcome, lunch, drinks and car cleaning tips.

Everyone has his own way's to clean cars, this is mine, it works for me so please if you leave a comment please leave one that's helpful. Good tips are always welcome.

After all the scratches where taken out with a polishing machine last week (see bottom of this post) I got a good base to really get a shine on the car.


The Car was clean, but in case yours isn't, clean your car with water and a car shampoo. I use this one from Autoglym.


Get the car dry, I use this microfiber towel.

Next step is to get all the dirt out of the paint. You use clay and a detailer fluid.

You take a little piece of clay and rub it over the body, after you have sprayed some detailer over it. do it section by section so you won't miss any spots.


You can use this for any tar, insects or tree spots that are not removed by the clay.


For any spots that are still left you can use very a light polish. This should do the job.

Next step: Wax

I used this wax from Smart, it's 60 euros and it smells like Coconut :-)

You can use a pad to apply the wax on the car but I think it's best to do it by hand.

I used these small microfiber towels to polish all the wax into the paint.

For all the plastic parts I used this gel. Makes it look all new.


Now the body is all done, don't forget the tires and rims.
I used Rim wax to make the rims look like new.



For the tires you can use this dressing. It puts a nice wet shine effect on the tires.

Here is the result. I must say, I only knew the basics of car cleaning. But after 5 hours of hard work I didn't know that you can get such a incredible result. The paint is sooooo soft it's incredible. The Black is sooooo deep, sooo nice :-)
